SCAEYC Mission Statement
The mission of the South Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children (SCAEYC), the state affiliate of NAEYC, is to collaborate with stakeholders to support all children from birth to age 8 and their families by creating an awareness of the importance of the early childhood years and advocating for the needs, rights, education and well-being of young children in South Carolina.
SCAEYC Vision Statements
Our vision is a world in which all children and families have the opportunity to participate in quality early childhood programs, to establish a strong and functional SCAEYC for all early childhood professionals, and to initiate coalitions for stakeholders through a supportive and collaborative system.
Vision for Children and Families
Provide guidance around and knowledge about early childhood development and about early childhood programs that provide quality care and support the individual needs and backgrounds of children and families.
Vision for the Organization and its Members
Establish a strong communication network with the membership to encourage active participation in early childhood initiatives b. Promote professional and leadership development, and support to its members. c. Build a culture of training leaders in the field of early childhood through SCAEYC board involvement and mentoring. d. Promote, value and respect diverse viewpoints and perspectives from all who share a commitment to quality education and development of young children and families in South Carolina.
Vision for Providers
Build a community for early childhood providers to network and share ideas around best practices.
Vision for Stakeholders
Serve as early childhood experts as we define “quality education” for stakeholders and work to shape appropriate programming options for young children.
Vision for Advocacy
Work in collaboration with other organizations to provide a collective voice on issues affecting young children and families in South Carolina.
